[$20 Budget Meal] Steamed Tofu with Minced Pork Topping, Black Chicken Herbal Soup & Stir Fry Capsicum with Shitake Mushroom


I'm back from the Land of Kimchi! Will be updating my travel post soon after clearing some of my back logs. Prepared this meal on the weekend before my trip. A simple homecooked meal that cost less than $20, will be submitting this post to May $20 Budget Meal - Specific Ingredient is "Tofu/Beancurd" hosted by Ellena of Cuisine Paradise.



Total cost: S$14.55



Steamed Tofu with Minced Pork Topping (S$3.15)


Ingredients:
1 box Silken Tofu ($0.95)
150g Minced Pork ($1.50)
2 sprigs Spring Onion ($0.30)
1 no Tomato ($0.10)
1 no Chilli ($0.10)
2 clove Garlic ($0.20)

Seasoning:
1 tsp oyster sauce
1 tsp soya sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp dark soya sauce
1/4 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp cornflour
1 tbsp water/stock
Pepper

Method:
1. Sliced tofu into 8 pieces and tomato into wedges. Place it nicely on a plate and steamed for 5 mins.
2. While steaming the tofu, heat up frying pan and add 1 tbsp of oil to fry chopped garlic till fragrant.
3. Add in minced pork and seasoning, stir fry till cooked.
4. Top the minced pork sauce on the steamed tofu and garnish with choped green onion/chilli. Serve immediately.


Stir Fry Capsicum with Shitake Mushroom (S$2.20)


Ingredients:
1/2 no Yellow Capsicum ($0.50)
1/2 no Red Capsicum ($0.50)
1/2 no Green Capsicum ($0.50) (replace with 1/2 zucchini)
5 no Shitake Mushromm ($0.50)
2 clove Garlic ($0.20)

Seasoning:
1 tbsp stock/water
1 tsp oyster sauce
1/2 tsp fish sauce
1/2 tsp light soya sauce
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp cornflour
pepper

Method:
1. Sliced all ingredients into strips and chopped garlic.
2. Heat pan with 2 thsp oil to fry chopped garlic till fragrant.
3. Add in mushroom to fry for 1 minute, follow by all vegetables and seasoning.
4. Fry till cooked and dish out to serve.


Seah's Black Chicken Herbal Soup (S$9.20)


Ingredients:
1 pkt Seah's Nutritious Black Chicken Spices ($1.80)
1 no Black Chicken ($5.10)
3 pcs Dried Scallop ($2.00)
5 nos Red Dates ($0.30)

Follow the instruction on the back of the packaging to prepare the soup.
