Exploring Toa Payoh Lor 1 Food Centre @ Blk 127

4th Sep 2010

An impromptu makan session with Sharon after work on Saturday. We were on the same bus to Toa Payoh and I casually mentioned that the bus will pass by Lor 1 market where there are lots of nice food in the food centre. She suggested to check it out and had lunch together since we were both free. Here's what we had...

135 Fishball Noodles

I wanted to have the famous 天天來炒福建虾面 but it was not opened so ended up having 小碗面. The dried noodle was surprisingly nice, the noodles were blanched just right with generous serving of beansprouts and chilli was good too. The soup was tasty but was laden with lots of msg because I was so thirsty the whole day.

Sharon had kway chap and commented that it was not very nice though quite cheap.

After lunch, we bought some snacks home. One of the popular stalls in the food centre selling handmade pau.

Bliss Haven Muffin

Another popular stall selling muffins. However just don't find it nice anymore. Now they sell mini muffin but was rather dry. Even launched new innovative flavour, walnut muffin with basil frosting. Is an acquired taste and a bit oily too.
